My Mother’s Story — It’s done!! (For Now)

My Mother, Matilda Heidebrecht Funderburk, 1910-2004, was born in a rural central Kansas Mennonite community.   On the header at the top of this blog blog you will see “Tillie’s Story.” Follow the links on that page to her story in the narrative and photographs of eleven small quilts I made depicting stories she told of her life.   Also did research about the Mennonites and her family’s arrival on American shores in 1874.  It is written as a children’s story, to be read to my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

As I learn new things from further research I many add more information.

About QuiltToonist

I'm a news junkie and have opinions about everything! I consider myself a folk artist because I have no formal art training and use the sewing skills I learned many moons ago to accomplish the fiber art I seem to have to express.
