Obituaries – The Morning Ritual

At least four of my friends of a certain age — me, myself and I and Gordy —  confess to reading the obituaries every morning.   We both look for the ages and Gordy tries to figure out what the departed souls died from.    We are happy when the folks are at least 20 years older than we are.  I was talking to my husband about making a quilt about reading the obits and he said it was like Facebookfor those who died; hence the QuiltToon.  It is 17″ X 17″.  Machine pieced and embroidered.  Hand appliqued.  Completed Nov. 1, 2010.

About QuiltToonist

I'm a news junkie and have opinions about everything! I consider myself a folk artist because I have no formal art training and use the sewing skills I learned many moons ago to accomplish the fiber art I seem to have to express.

I use to look at wedding announcements and new births, now it’s 50th anniversaries and deaths. . .Your thought to make a quilttoon about it was hilarious! You are still a riot.

  2. Cindy (your daughter) says:

too funny! I can just imagine your reaction when manos said that to you!
