Lefty the Lonesome Cowpoke

I recently completed a five-week course on cartooning at the Toledo Museum of Art taught by Wes Booher  from The Blade’s Art Department.  One of our last assignments was to draw a musician out of our imagination.  I chose to draw a cowpoke with a guitar that you see here.  Then I made it into a QuiltToon .  My son pointed out that I made him left-handed which I really hadn’t even noticed…so I called him Lefty.   I enjoyed the class and learned a lot about drawing which should help me in my creative endeavors.

The QuiltToonis 17″ W X 18″ H.  It is machine pieced, top-stitched  and embroidered.  Fusible webbing was used and the face was painted.

About QuiltToonist

I'm a news junkie and have opinions about everything! I consider myself a folk artist because I have no formal art training and use the sewing skills I learned many moons ago to accomplish the fiber art I seem to have to express.
