Tires By Red – Entrepreneur Extraordinaire

“Red” has been operating her tire shop for about  two years.  (She’s quick to add that the shop is also owned by her husband.)  About two years ago, when I first became aware of her shop, it was located at a less desirable location, as far as traffic passing by.  During the last year, my husband and I noticed she had moved to a heavily trafficked area in a better building.  One early morning, my husband saw “Red” driving a big truck loaded down with tires — we admire this spirit of entrepreneurship and all hard work it takes.  She allowed me to take photographs and is a very sweet, soft-spoken person who says the success she is having is not because of her — she gives God credit.

This QuiltToonsis 10″X 8″, machine pieced and top-stitched.  The photographs I took (shop, “Red” and flag) were printed on material and assembled with machine stitches and glue.   It will be framed.

Photograph and text are under copyright, Judy Paschalis, 2012.

About QuiltToonist

I'm a news junkie and have opinions about everything! I consider myself a folk artist because I have no formal art training and use the sewing skills I learned many moons ago to accomplish the fiber art I seem to have to express.
