Abandoned But Not Forgotten 2

Rust & WeedsWalking alleyways can be rewarding when you find a rusty gate and weeds on a sunny day in early autumn. I printed the photograph in what my printer calls “poster” (some printers call tiling) to produce a photo that is about 15″ X 16.”  I sewed those four material-printed photos together and proceeded to embellish the photos with much free motion top-stitching to enhance/highlight the colors.  The completed wall hanging is 26″ X 28.”  It is machine pieced and top-stitched.

Completed March 2013.

About QuiltToonist

I'm a news junkie and have opinions about everything! I consider myself a folk artist because I have no formal art training and use the sewing skills I learned many moons ago to accomplish the fiber art I seem to have to express.
