Early Morning

Window gown
I was fortunate to be visiting my daughter and her family in France in late July and took the photo below out of the second story bathroom window in the early morning.  Someone had a gown drying in the window.  Perfect scene for a fiber art quilt.  I printed the photo on fabric, thread sketched using the free-motion machine stitching for the greenery on the lawn below and embellished with a gown of light fabric.  Border has machine embroidery.  It is 8″ X 10″ and will be shown at the Hudson Gallery in Sylvania, Ohio starting this Friday at the opening reception.

Completed August, 2014.

About QuiltToonist

I'm a news junkie and have opinions about everything! I consider myself a folk artist because I have no formal art training and use the sewing skills I learned many moons ago to accomplish the fiber art I seem to have to express.

Love the border, great lacy-like touch.
