Lightning Bug Babies

Lightning Bug Babies

Catching fireflies is a favorite thing to do in Ohio just before the little kids go to bed.  They take their baths, put on their jammies and head outside where the fireflies are lighting up all over the place.  In 2009, my granddaughters, Chloe and Camille, were visiting in June/July and catching lightning bugs was the best time of day.  I took a photo of big sister showing little sister her catch and later turned it in to a quilt, which I gave to them.  16″ X 18″ — machine pieced and top-stitched.   Hand appliqued and embroidered.  Beads added for glitz.  Completed 2009.
